The case against illegal immigrants' rights

Earlier tonight I was watching the news from Atlanta. There was a story about a woman who had been on trial, and now her fate is in the hands of the jury. In his closing arguments the District Attorney said that a lie is a lie, and lying to the government is a crime.

What is the lie that this woman told that may now put her in prison for many years? She lied about her address so that he children could go to the schools that she thought could give her children the best possible education.

How did she get caught? Her children were singled out for their outstanding academic performance.

It seems that for nearly 9 years, this lady claimed to live in the Marietta, GA city limits. She did live in Cobb County, where Marietta is located, but she did not live in the Marietta city limits, and she wanted her children to attend school in the Marietta City School System. Once the lady discovered that her lie had been discovered by authorities, she and her husband bought a home within the Marietta city limits, so that her children could remain in the school system.

However, the Cobb County District Attorney's Office had this woman arrested, and she was brought to trial on 16, yes 16 separate charges!

The very same day that this is one of the top stories on the Atlanta news, the United States Senate comes to a compromise which will allow 12 - 20 million illegal immigrants to stay in this country with very little punishment. Ted Kennedy and John McCain say that they have finally done what Americans want done with the illegal immigrant problem. Do they really believe the crap that they are spewing?

So, we have an African-American lady, who is a citizen of the United States, and is not accepting any type of government assistance, lying to the government so her children could go to the school of her choice. And, we have millions of people who have entered our country illegally, working with false documentation, not paying taxes, and receiving all of the benefits the government will give them.

You tell me who you consider to be the criminal.

We already know who the government says the criminal is.
