Microbial physiology is one of the sub-divisions of the microbiology.
It is a study of microbial cell functions and their biology; i.e. the study of microbial metabolism, microbial growth and microbial cell structure. It is vast study as there are an innumerable number of micro-organisms.
The study essentially focuses on topics such as primary and secondary metabolism in actinomycetes, functional studies of the effect of enzymes on sucrose. The output of these studies is often used for various other studies related to bio-transformations.
The advances in microbial have paved the way to optimize product yield based on the analysis of cultures and growth kinetics. The culture of micro-organisms is a useful and beneficial study and will result in breakthroughs in the field of microbial study.
