I'm not sure about the rest of you, but it was extremely difficult for me to come up with a plan for my 'girls weekend' with my bridesmaids. Every website that I went to offered suggestions of playing dirty games, having cakes that were shaped like body parts, and all sorts of other things. I thought I would come up with some 'alternatives' to the normal bachelorette parties.
The plan I came up with for my bridesmaids was to do a girls weekend. We are going to rent a cabin in the mountains, go to an amusement park, do some shopping, watch some 'chick flicks' and play games like mad gab, and do a scavenger hunt (the clean kind). For the scavenger hunt, we will break into two teams. Here are some of the samples from the list of things to find:
*Find and interview a couple, who've been married for over 40 years, on what has made their marriage successful.
*Ask three children the following question and record their response ... 'How does someone know they are ready to get married?'
*Record a stranger telling you their best inlaw joke.
*Find and purchase the funniest wedding card you can find.
These are just a few of the items for the scavenger hunt, and after the teams get done, everyone can share the things they found. I'm sure that with some of the tasks (like the inlaw jokes) there will be many laughs to follow!
I guess my whole point is that you don't have to do 'dirty' things to have fun for the bachelorette weekend. I just don't understand the whole 'go get drunk and act stupid' thing. There are ways to have fun with the girls in ways that won't get you into to trouble or give you a hangover.
