Is it ethical to turn your brother in for a murder? Before I would turned him in, I would have a heart to heart talk and try to get him to do the right thing. If they wouldn't, I think it would ethical to turn any family member in for murder or anyone else. If they did the crime, then they must do the time. They would deprived someone of their life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That person, brother or not, does not deserve to be walking around among mostly law abiding citizens. Right is right and wrong is wrong.
But then, what if you put yourself in the victim family's place. If someone killed one of your family members, and someone knew who did it, wouldn't you want them to turn that person in? Of course you would.
It would be a hard thing to live with, knowing that you sent a brother to prison or worse, a chance at a lethal injection. I would not want to be in that position, ever. And how would the rest of the family deal with you? Well, I would rather be a family outcast than knowing my brother had killed someone and I said nothing or did nothing.
