A body of numbers: Weighing body image issues
Article ToolsDont you ever get sick of it? The size zero debate? The blaming of young models for our insecurities and eating disorders? I had never even heard of size zero when I started noticing my body shape and weight. The pressure to be slim may seem very prominent in modern society but it has always been there. It may have been curves and breasts in the fifties but what about the sixties? Twiggy and her no tits, no ass, boy body were everywhere. The stupid thing is we all say we are sick of being compared to stick thin models and celebraties but we are the one's who do it! If a new "extreme Skinny Celebs" comes out I'am the first to watch it! and any time I get together with my friends the conversation always comes round to weight sooner or later. I dont think Im ever going to be ok with my body but maybe if we all shut up about it for five minutes we could all forget about it and go eat something.
