There are many people who view the Wicca religion to be evil- full of black magic. As I am part of that religion, I can tell you now that any misconceptions are wrong.

Wicca is dealing with the Goddess and the God, Earth, and it's surroundings. We do not worship for the devil- that is a Christian based concept. Black magic can be done, however, it is against the rules. It is messing with the will of someone else, and it will come back to you Three-Fold.

Let me explain the Three-Fold Law for those who do not know what it is or is curious. The Wiccan Rede states: Mind the Threefold Law ye should - Three times bad an' three times good. It basically means if you send something out, it will come back to you three times. So, say you do a spell that wishes bad luck on someone, you will have it returned you to three times as much and vice versa. So to do bad will on someone only be as bad to you- like in real life.

The cliched "black cat" is not true. Although many Wiccans have familiars (which will be discussed at a later time), and some are black, they are not part of any spells or rituals. In fact, cats love to jump on things and when there are candles lit, there will be an accident.

The misconception that we do animal/blood sacrifices. That could not be further from the truth! As a Wiccan, you are taught to love and respect animals reverence of Nature.

All Wiccans are witches. Wrong again! Some Wiccans used magick, but not all do. The whole point of using magick is to better your life in some way- but harming none. You cannot use magick to get someone to love you, or to get anything you want. It's only to help guide you.

So anything that you may have heard about the Wicca religion being bad or full of black is wrong. It is a peaceful religion.
