GHOULS

An accident has occurred at the lights by the school
All have seen the blood every boy and every girl
The innocence lost at the sight of the gore
But teachers don't notice they want to see more
The cars slow to a crawl gawking as they creep by
For a chance at a glimpse of one who has died
This intersection is busier than it usually is
For the ghouls have caught wind and wish to witness
Some they may gasp wondering who it had been
But that doesn't pull their eyes from the scene
The young and the old are drawn to this death
In anticipation of their own fate and their last dying breathe
Why is it that you're drawn to see others in pain?
What is it that is received what is it that's gained?
