During the summer, jobs for teenagers abound if you are in the right place to take them on. Even if you're not and you don't drive, your parents may be able to help you get to and from a job. Most jobs for teenagers involve some physical skill or labor.

One of the more popular jobs in past years was to start a lawn mowing business. Many people don't have the time to keep up with their grass mowing during the summer and look for someone reliable who can do it for them. You will have to come up with a lawn mower, and it might need to be a riding mower. Many teens stick to smaller yards and mowers they can put in their trunk and go. Find out what the going rate for certain size yards is for your neighborhood. Then, put out fliers with your name and phone number around the area. If no one calls within a few days, go door to door.

There aren't many of these positions, but being a lifeguard at a local pool is a good summer job. You will need to get certified as a lifeguard. Usually, the pool will require some training before the season opens. You will need to apply early to have a chance.

Many grocery stores put on extra summer help to cover vacations and increases in summer business. You will probably have to work all of the awful shifts, but it's good steady inside work.

Landscaping companies and construction companies like to hire extra labor during the summer. This is normally hard work, but it often pays better than some other options. You may even get to learn a skill that will come in handy later.

If you advertise around your area, people are sometimes looking for some extra hands to do garage, gutter, and other types of cleaning. They will work you a day or two. You may get called back for more later, but if you keep pushing it, you can get a steady stream of business because this type of cleaning frequently requires more than one person.
