Soul-mates do exist. I found mine 12 years ago. I had been married twice, dated a lot, burned many times, and could not figure out what all the fuss was about love. I was 31 years old, and ready to give up on any kind of serious relationship. I thought all men were alike. That's when, I believe, God stepped in and introduced me to my wonderful husband. So how do I know he is my soul-mate? He is my best friend. I can tell him absolutely anything, and know that it won't change the way he looks at me. I can remember every story he has ever told me. When he holds me I feel completely safe, and have no worries. I never grow tired of being with him. When I look at him, I get tingly all over and feel weak, and when I kiss him, it always feels like the first time. I believe that a soul-mate (a person's one true love) is the person that God chose as our partner in life. I think that many people confuse feelings of lust for love, not intentionally, because I believe that almost everyone wants to truly be in love, but, because they have never found the one they were meant to be with. Some people even give up, and refuse to believe that there is a compatible love for them. I know the topic of this article is not about God, however, I feel that no problem can be solved without Him, so I will say this to anyone who has given up or feels like giving up. God is Love...He knows your heart, so it only makes sense that through Him, you can find the love you are looking for. He wants us to love Him first, just as He loves us. Once you discover God's love, you learn how to truly love another human being. The Agape (unconditional) love that God wants us to feel for others is inside us all. If your search for true love has proved to be a worthless endeavor, try searching your soul for the One who gives us love. He made us. He put the feelings of love inside us, and it is only through Him that we will find it. God doesn't give you the people that you want in your life, He gives you the people that you need - to help you, to hurt you, to leave you, to love you, and to make you into the person you were meant to be. Once you become that person, I believe God will put the ones we want in our lives (we might even discover that they are the same people we needed), but I don't believe that you can become that person until you know the love of God. God hasn't shown me what my future holds, but I believe that He has shown me that on the day that I die, I will still be in love with my husband!
