If there was one thing in my life that shocked the hell out of me, it was my parents divorce. No one saw it coming. Then almost a week after my mom moved out, my dad tells my brother and I that he has a girlfriend. Good for him, I think. It was sort of odd and somewhat foreign and I was a little upset but I wanted to meet her. The minute she walked into the room I knew who it was. I knew her whole family, in fact I had dated her son when I was in the 6th grade. It was so awkward and I didn't know how to act or what to do. They ended up dating for about 2 years before my dad found out she was crazy. Those 2 years were just filled with drama and unhappiness for my dad which sort of put a strain on my friendship with his girlfriends son. They ended up breaking it off but for some reason I think things would have been a lot harder had I not known the women. It was a little easier knowing who she was, what she was like, before she was brought into our family for a short while.
