What is organic coffee

Do you like seeing that oil slick on the coffee? Do you like a harsh chemical taste? You might not taste it or see it in coffee, but pesticides are sprayed, sown, and spread on coffee plants.

Organic coffee is coffee grown without the pesticides, which most people in this health conscious age could guess. But non organic grows better, because it is not shade grown or fair trade.

Fair trade coffee means the coffee buyers did not make a huge fortune, but spent some of the money on the farmers. They get health care, education, and a chance to escape poverty. Many fair trade countries are going organic, and encouraging other farmers to join them.

The spread of the health nut has grown, and it is not surprising that organics are into everything. It is refreshing, though, to hear how much good it has done the poor in other countries.
