Anne Klein was born Hanna Golofski on August 3rd 1923 in New York and became Anne Klein upon marriage to husband Ben Klein. Ann began her career in fashion as a sketcher and soon began to receive recognition for her skill and flair in new designs for women.

In partnership with her husband, Anne revolutionised fashion for young women in 1948 upon formation of their company "Junior Sophisticates". Recognising the fact that the fashion industry failed to cater for teens and young women, Anne Klein soon began setting new trends with her unique lines that focussed particularly on women's sportswear targeting ages from 12 through to young adults.

Fifteen years later, Anne Klein & Co along with the Anne Klein Studio were established and began producing expanded lines of superior quality women's apparel, practical sportswear for women as well as women's blazers and trousers. The Anne Klein name soon became synonymous with high fashion and quality designer clothes for women all over the USA.

Sadly, Anne Klein died as a result of breast cancer on March 19 in 1974 at the age of 50 however the Anne Klein name remains to this day one of the leading international fashion houses catering for women of all ages.
