I have a different view of the gradual decline of the earth (not about global-warming). The earth is a living thing. All living things begin declining the minute they are born. Whether you believe in billions of years or a young earth, the earth is in the process of dying. It's natural.

That' being said, there are many things we can do to slow the process. Just as a woman puts creams on her face to try to keep the wrinkles at bay, we can assist our planet to last many many more years.

First, if there is any way you can keep from throwing something away, do so.
Recycle, find places to take in old stuff, reconstitute, find new uses for things....

Second, be aware of your effect on the environment. If smokers would stop throwing their 'butts' out the window, that would make a big difference.

Third, think before you act. Will this harm my earth? Will it help?

Fourth, plant trees and other plants.

Fifth, buy things that have been recycled.

Sixth, buy from 'green' companies that take care of the environment and refuse to buy from non-green companies - hold them accountable.

You don't need to be afraid, the planet will still be here when your children grow up. Spreading fear is not helpful, in fact, it can be detrimental. We have to live, and sometimes that means using up resources. So just be careful what you buy and what you throw, plant a tree, and enjoy your life and your earth.
