As we all know global warming is a continuing threat in our society today and It seems useless for you to try and do anything about it, you think well what can one person do? and why am I going to go out of my way when no one else is? Its all very understandable but its not very hard.

I mean there are a few things that may cost you more now but it'll save you big time in the long run. I for one cannot afford a new hybrid car but such extreme measures do not need to be taken. Something as simple as Replacing incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent bulbs can be a great energy saving tip not only can Compact fluorescents produce the same amount of light as normal bulbs, but they use about a quarter of the electricity used before and last up to ten times as long, it also saves you money on your electric bill.

Reduce! Reuse! Recycle!Recycling a stack of newspapers only 4 feet high will save a good-sized tree. Please...buy recycled products! Their is usually a recycle icon a triangle of arrows that will inform you if it is a recyclable material or not.

Also make sure your car is up to snuff by going out and getting the Air in your tires checked because a well-tuned car with properly inflated tires burns less gasoline cutting pollution and saving you money at the gas station. If you have two cars, drive the one with better gas mileage whenever possible. OR you can skip the drive and take public transit, walk, or bicycle when you can. Stop the Gas addiction!

Saving energy at home is good for the environment and for your hard earned money.
Start with caulking and weather-stripping on doorways and windows. Then adjust your thermostat because For each degree you lower your thermostat in the winter, you can cut your electric bills by 3 percent. Finally, ask your utility company to do a free energy audit of your home to show you how to save even more money. Some people may laugh but Its not a joke nor is it hard to pick up your telephone or do some research.

Results of Global warming are very serious Many Scientists believe that a rise of 3 degrees would cause famine and drought and threaten millions of lives. It would also cause a worldwide drop in crops and farmlands of between 20 and 400 million tons, threatening 400 million more people with famine, and put up to 3 billion people at risk of flooding and without access to fresh water supplies. Few ecosystems could adapt to such a dramatic temperature change, resulting in the destruction of half the world's nature reserves and a fifth of coastal wetlands. Global sea levels could rise by more than 20 feet if the ice shelves in Greenland and Antarctica collapsed, which is a distinct possibility if temperatures continue to climb. Droughts and wildfires will occur more often. More than a million species worldwide could be driven to extinction by 2050.

Something as small and simple as planting a tree can be a great start to reduce the effects of global warming and Recently gas stations are now being supplied with biodiesel, A much cheaper alternative and better for the environment. Many people say they don't have time to incorporate these simple acts into their busy lives but some day when things get real serious I imagine your going to regret not doing something about it. So come on! Give us a planet where our Children and Our childrens children can live in, safely with out the effects of global warming affecting our future and theirs. DO some research and Find out how you can make a difference. Make it happen!
