Nothing gets me annoyed when blogging when my blog comments get cluttered up with spam. Anybody that's had to deal with spam should definitely know what type of spam that usually clutters up your blog comments. It's basically people spamming up your comment board with all sorts of porn links in which contain numerous viruses. There is one way to combat this problem, edit the preferences for your blog.
First thing's first, you're going to have to prevent people from anonymously commenting. Meaning they have to be a registered member in order to leave a comment. That should get rid of most of the spammers but not completely. Keep in mind there are spammers that do sign up as members. Luckily, it's not as much as it is on various sites such as Asian Avenue and Migente. Basically you have the power to filter the comments to your blogs. That's the one thing I'm grateful for is being able to delete comments on a blog.
For any registered members that spam, you can always report the people to the webmasters and the moderators. They can ban the person's IP address. That should help you deal with spamming in your blog's comments. Taking these measures will help a lot in preventing spam. While most spam will be preventing, you're going to have to check everything else. Keep in mind, people tend to spam comment in your latest blog entries. Which is good for you because you can keep track without having to backtrack through previous entries.
Therefore, it cuts all the time and effort used deleting spam posts. First thing is first, make sure people cannot post anonymously at all. That's the one surefire way to prevent your blog from getting spammed up. The most common blog spam are porn links that can contain many viruses such as Trojans.
