The trouble with money in our society today is that it has become so important to us, that there is no way we will ever get enough of it. While I will agree that money is a very necessary thing for everyone, and it it necessary to buy food, housing, and basically every thing you might need, our society as a whole has put too much importance on it and actually uses how much money someone has as a way to determine their worth as a person.
Another problem with money having become so very important in our society is that when someone does come into a lot of money, they let it go to their head and most times this results in them getting a very bad attitude - even thinking they are better than everyone else just because they now have a lot of money. In this way the importance placed on money in our society today actually makes money a great evil. It will also cause otherwise innocent and good people to rob and steal just to get even more.
The importance of money will also cause otherwise sane people to get into a sort of "keeping up with the Jones'" type of rat race. This actually accomplishes nothing as one person is simply trying to show the other that they are as good or better than them. If money would be considered a necessary thing, and kept in a more reasonable perspective, there would be less money related crimes, and probably less money problems in our society as a whole.
