I hadn't thought when I was younger that I would someday not be able to dance for very long or walk for miles or stay up late let alone tie my shoes or brush my own hair. I have suffer from chronic illness and the journey has been very hard on myself and my family. My husband is also starting to suffer as well and this changes everything for him about how he has viewed my illness in the past. Besides all of the medications and the therapy's I am so happy to report that Spirituality is what has kept me going. I don't mean getting to Church on time on Sunday I mean getting in touch inside with the reality that God does not make mistakes nor does he cause illness and that I can embrace this part of my journey as well as the times I have been well. I understand now that there is more to this than just me and having chronic illness in my life, becoming spiritual has opened my mind to more than just how I feel and my sense's have come alive. There for on my good days I go fishing and walk in a garden or by a lake or just sit outside in a spot I can be memorized by beauty and on my really bad days I have to resort to picturing these things in my minds eye and picture them so deeply that I am really there and peaceful. Don't be afraid to share what you are dealing with and It can help to recognize you are not alone and that you are not the only one so joining support groups can be very helpful. I originally joined a support group for help and I now log on to offer it.
