The best way to spend your money if you want to get away for the weekend is probably what you least expect-cruising! I am all about vacations but I am more into getting the most for my money and having a great time at the same time. Cruises can be so inexpensive if you know the right time to go. Obviously, during holidays such as Christmas, 4th of July and even when the college students are out for spring break-that is the worst time to go. But even then you will have a wonderful time and still get the most for your money than going on any other vacation that requires you to get a hotel, purchase a plane ticket, buy meals, entertainment, etc. The most affordable cruises can be had for anywhere between 150.00-250.00 for a 3-4 day Bahamian cruise. How much better can it get than a weekend getaway in the Bahamas for under 300.00? The best thing about cruising is that you don't have to spend any more than the cost of the cruise and have a great time. There is so much to do on a cruise that 3-4 days is usually not even enough. The only thing extra you pay for on a cruise is if you want alcoholic drinks, photos, and if you have the desire to participate in excursions on land. Excursions are activities that you choose to do on land such as swimming with dolphins, horseback riding, etc. All of this can be fun as well but not necessary while cruising. Cruising is all about relaxation and you will definitely achieve this in your cruise pricing. The price that you pay up front includes your room, all meals, most beverages (Carnival charges for soda but you can purchase a soda card up front and drink unlimited soda) and ALL entertainment on board except the casino of course. Gambling is at your expense. Every cruise I have been on has absolutely exceeded my expectations. You are always treated like a queen or king (you would think you spent a fortune for that treatment). They really go out of their way to make sure you have the best time. Your room is always clean. You are constantly fed whether it's room service, the buffet, or fine dining. Whatever your choice is they have it and they will acommodate whatever your needs may be-just let them know. You would think you would be jipped in the entertainment or on the food for the little price that you pay for your vacation-but you don't. I especially like Royal Caribbean Cruises. They never fail to deliver quality entertainment and service to all their cruisers. If you think 3-4 day cruises are great, try a 5-7 day cruise if you have time. Once again, depending on when you choose to go, you can get an awesome deal and you will never want to come home- and that is a promise! Unless you have an absolutely horrible experience. That has never happened to me or anyone I know so I can not help anyone who feels dissatisfied. Overall, the benefits of a weekend cruise would be of course affordability, quality, entertainment, food, service, relaxation and just an overall great time! No matter whether you pay more than other times of the year I feel it is completely worth it and you are still getting a good deal, but why not shop around and book a cruise for a time when it is half the price as peak season?
