Podcasts are something like a radio program that you can listen to through your computer or mp3 player. They are becoming more and more popular, and each podcast is unique. There are podcasts about local church groups, podcasts about music, even podcasts that are created by fans of the Harry Potter books. My favorite podcasts to listen to are the comedy podcasts. Since many podcasts are produced out of people's homes, and aren't owned by a giant corporation, podcasters have the freedom to say whatever they want to. It is this freedom that allows podcasts to be funnier than what you can find on the radio or on television.

Here are a few of the best comedy podcasts:

(1) Hyper Nonsense

This podcast comes from San Luis Obispo California, and is hosted by married couple Shawno and Jen. They tell funny stories about everything from the bums on the local buses to pop culture musings. Hyper Nonsense just released a "Best of Hyper Nonsense" episode that showcases some of the more hysterical stories.

(2)Nobody Likes Onions

This podcast describes itself as "a cold shower in sarcasm". Hosted by comedian Patrick Melton and a revolving cast of friends, Nobody Likes Onions is not afraid to cross any line no matter who may be offended.

(3)Keith and The Girl

A podcast from New York City simply described as "Keith and his girlfriend talk shit". Keith and the Girl has received much coverage in the mainstream press for the shows rabid fan base and breakout success.

(4)Yeast Radio

Hosted by the "bloated lesbian of all media" Madge Weinstein, Yeast Radio is one of the longest running comedy podcasts. There is no set format to this show. Topics of discussion range from political rants to gynecological issues.

(5)Distorted View Daily

A daily dose of some of the most twisted humor on the internet. Distorted View Daily provides insight into bizarre news stories, and adult themed content.
