Late For Work, Again?
While the majority of employees arrive at work within five minutes of starting time and some exemplorary examples of the human version of the worker bee actually arrive far earlier each day, there remains the few stragglers who arrive late to work every day with an excuse in each pocket for their tardiness.
The tardiness of the stragglers in the workplace is at the least annoying to their co-workers and at the most downright rude.
If you are stuck out in the cold, literally, on a frosty winter morning waiting to be relieved by the next operator of your machine, or the next shift of road builders it goes beyond annoying when your replacement turns up and looks you in the eye and says. "Gee! It was hard getting out of bed this morning!"
Being late for work is a habit that some people seem to just fall into and maintain. It really wont matter if they do set their alarm ten minutes earlier or leave the house earlier. They have programmed themselves into believing that arriving late for work is acceptable. The only one who can change that habit is the person themselves. Perhaps it is the attention received for being late that makes them feel special. It may be that they feel that lateness is their own personal rebellion and it makes them stand above the crowd. Whatever their reason they will continue to arrive late for work until they see the need to change it.
