Being a huge fan of Johnny Depp, I own every single one of his movies. He is a mastermind, a genius if you will. I've been following Johnny ever since his debut in A Nightmare on Elm Street. These are my top 10 Johnny Depp characters.

10. Nightmare on Elm Street: Although this movie is somewhat a cheesy, horror flick, Johnny pulled off the darkness of the film. Even though he wasn't a main character he still had a presence. He will be remembered as the man who got sucked into a bed and lost gallons of blood. :)

9. Sleepy Hollow: As Ichabod Crane, Tim Burton couldn't have picked a better man than Johnny. Sort of odd and somewhat girlie, Depp pulled off the character with grace and ease. His performance was awkward in a way that made the character likable.

8. What's Eating Gilbert Grape: Now this movie was overlooked, in my opinion. Not only were there some other big names, Leonardo, Juliette Lewis, and we can't forget Johnny Depp. He really brought a lot of understanding to his character. He showed the true torment of having a brother like Gilbert but still wanting to lead a normal life. He didn't want to be the center of the town talk but he still loved his family. Johnny couldn't have been more perfect for this role.

7.Pirates of the Caribbean (1&2): If you haven't noticed, Johnny likes the darker side of acting, the gritty, dark, unusual characters. Captain Jack Sparrow seems to be written just for Johnny. Even under all that dirt and hair Johnny is still as gorgeous as ever. He plays the part well and seems to really take hold of the story and somewhat steals the show.

6.From Hell: The story of Jack the Ripper. Johnny plays the detective trying to catch Jack the Ripper. Another dark role in a dark movie, Depp protrays the detective role very well.

5. Cry-Baby: A classic 90's flick, Johnny plays the 'greaser' Wade 'Cry Baby' Walker. He is brilliant, bringing sorrow and hope into the character. Although he pulls off the cool, tough guy very well he still brings a lot of heart into the character which makes him so likable. You almost pull for him throughout the whole movie.

4. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Now I know Depp isn't the original Willy Wonka, he absolutely puts up a good fight against Gene Wilder though. The original wasn't as dark and deep as Tim Burton's remake which is why Depp was perfect for this role. Willy Wonka is supposed to be this somewhat depressed man and Johnny really brought that out with his performance.
