favorite movies of all time. Based on a true story about George Young or Boston George is somewhat depressing. He has so many ups and downs in his life and seems that once everything becomes 'perfect' in his eyes, all of a sudden everything turns to crap. I love how Johnny grew with the character, he really got to know who George Young was, how he moved, how he talked, how he acted. He really portrayed every aspect of George's life in his own Johnny Depp sort of way.
2. Edward Scissorhands: OK, I grew up watching this moving and always wishing that I could make sculptures like he did. Yet another Tim Burton film, Johnny seems drawn to the darker side of acting, but I'm not complaining. Sort of bringing back the silent film acting, Johnny used his eyes and his body to express the pain of Edward. Brilliantly played, I might add.
1. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas: Being Hunter S. Thompson's number one fan and being absolutely in love with Johnny Depps acting, this movie couldn't have been more perfect for me to watch. It seems as though Hunter S. was living inside of Johnny at the time that he was doing this film. He had his voice, his walk, his swagger, everything about Hunter S. down pat.
I believe that Johnny Depp will be around for a long time, making dark movies and playing demented characters. Tim Burton said he was his muse and loved to use Johnny because of his passion for each character. For example: while preparing for the role of George Young, Johnny actually went to the jail that George was in and sat with him for weeks upon weeks just getting to know him, hearing his story and somewhat trying to mimic him. The same goes with Hunter S. Thompson, Johnny was with Hunter for, I believe, months, just so he could really get a sense of who Hunter S. was. We need more actors out there who care about their job like Johnny Depp.
