Absolutely true, domestic violence affecting women is not happening in America alone. It is a world wide injustice being inflicted upon women of all ethnic groupings, races and nationalities. Every day, women are subjected to some form of domestic violence against them.

In many societies and cultures, women are regarded as creatures created to serve men. They are considered as child production tool to keep the blood linage surviving, if she can not bear any children then she is ridiculed by the husband verbally and psychologically. For example, in my culture a woman is expected to produce sons for the tribe but if she can not fulfill that obligation then she is sent back to her kins, loosing all her status as a wife.

Many women are beaten up physically, deprived of financial support, can not negotiate the use of condom within the marriage and get infected with HIV/AIDS from their husbands. Even the suggestion of using the condom can cause suspicions and reprisals from the husband although the the husband knows that he is being unfaithful to his wife. Other women get raped by their husbands because she refuses to have sex while others are forced to participate in activities that they have no control over.

It is really heart breaking how the very person that a woman loves, adores, bears his child and commits her life to acts violently and abuses her is a great concern for women. When will men accept and love the women unconditionally without hurting them in their own homes?
