If you ask fans of sitcom comedies what their all-time favorite of them, many of them will say Seinfeld. Seinfeld has melted its way into countless pop culture references, and is one of the most culturally important television shows of the modern era. In my opinion Seinfeld is the absolute funniest show ever created. The writing was great, the characters were brilliant, and every single episode was just really, really funny.
Obviously it started with the big 4 characters, which is essentially who the show followed. They were Jerry Seinfeld, Cosmo Kramer, George Costanza, and Elaine Benes. They were all fantastic characters that complimented each other perfectly. They all had their different mannerisms and peculiarities down pat, and were simply hilarious. In order, my favorite was probably Kramer, then George, Jerry, and then Elaine. But really, you can put them in any order, because they were all funny. If you asked 100 fans of the show to rank their favorite characters in order, you would get many different answers.
But the real strength of the show was in the supporting characters, whether they were recurring characters or one-time ones. Recurring characters such as Newman, George's parents, Uncle Leo, and George Steinbrenner were all brought in at great times, really adding to things. There were also the one-time characters, such as Lt. Bookman, the Virgin, the Soup Nazi, and many others.
For many reasons, I believe Seinfeld is the funniest show in TV history. The comedy was nonstop, and there was never really an episode that wasn't funny.
Here are some of my favorite quotes from the show:
Cosmo Kramer: The bus is outta control. So I grab him by the collar, I take him out of the seat, I get behind the wheel, and now I'm driving the bus.
Jerry: Wow.
George Costanza: You're Batman.
Cosmo Kramer: Yeah, yeah, I am Batman. Then the mugger, he comes to and he starts choking me. So I'm fighting him off with one hand and I kept driving the bus with the other, ya know. Then I managed to open up the door and I kicked him out the door, ya know, with my foot, ya know, at the next stop.
Jerry: You kept making all the stops?
Cosmo Kramer: Well, people kept ringing the bell.
Mr. Lippman: It's come to my attention that you and the cleaning woman have engaged in sexual intercourse on the desk in your office. Is that correct?
George Costanza: Who said that?
Mr. Lippman: She did.
George Costanza: [pause] Was that wrong? Should I not have done that?
Cosmo Kramer:
