Some avenues you may want to discover and explore:
Adsense.com:
Create a website and then place other companies adverts and links on the homepage. The sponsoring companies will then pay you per hit from your site. Shvoong and helium operate on a similar principle but on a larger scale (Helium is better - in my opinion!).
Helium.com:
Enjoy writing and build up a good, well written back catalogue of articles which can tick over in the background gaining readers and some cash for you.
Lulu.com:
Why not write a novel, take some photos por paint some pictures to sell by print on demand. There's a number of sites set up to do this but lulu.com seems the most straight forward I've found so far.
website parking:
You can buy a website name for a relatively small cost and then just park it. By doing this the hosting company will place ads on its homepage and from this you will gain an income per hit. Additionally if you pick up on a poignant name for the time you could get some offers e.g when blue ray was emerging as a technology the owner of blueray.com probably got a lot of very nice offers for the name. Additionally web name owners regularly bundle up names and sell them on ebay for a nice profit.
It's good to spread your income across a number of channels and not put all your eggs in one basket. Also by using a number of channels you can wait and watch which most successful and either feed this knowledge into the others or build on your success.
