Life without the internet what a difficult image to comprehend. Being as I am a relative youngster whose life is very near total integration with the world wide web I think I would find it difficult to live without my every whim catered for at the touch of a button.
The internet to me is much like a mobile phone, constantly redeveloped and upgraded but essentially a previous idea which has been changed for the sake of convenience.
Prior to the conception of the internet people were able to read about current events via the medium of the newspaper. They were able to shop for food and clothing by going to the local shopping centre. They could contact relatives by sending letters and parcels. They could arrange to meet with friends by using the humble telephone. All of this has, to a certain extent, been replaced with the advent of the internet. In the present day an individual can speak to a friend in Hong Kong, whilst buying the latest gadget online, listening to free African tribal music online and reading about the latest political rebellion in Latin America. The internet, in essence, is just the virtual embodiment of streamlining. All the tasks an individual needed to do in a day can now be done via one simple medium, a home computer.
Life without the internet would be difficult to adjust to, but not impossible. Life existed prior to the internet's arrival and could, I assume, exist without it again. Things would just take a little longer, thats all.

It's funny to see a topic like this because I don't really have to speculate on what life would be like without the Internet.
