Dealing with evil around us

Dealing with the evil around us is a different task for everyone. Some people are weaker than others in certain areas, some are stronger. To say there is any one way to deal with evil, is to say everyone is alike or that we are all carbon copies and not individuals.

I believe people choose how to deal with evil based on their past experiences. Some people will ignore evil. There could be any number of reasons for this. Perhaps they have had many bad experiences in life and they prefer not to give evil any attention. This could be effective, to a certain extent. Sometimes, if you ignore something, it will go away. However, in the case of evil, this usually does not happen.

To deal with evil, it is better to face it head on. To let the evil know it does not have power over you. You reject the evil, no matter what form it takes. This is not easy. The evil could reside in a beloved family member. Perhaps it has not shown it's face in the past. This does not mean you should shun the person. That is the same as ignore the evil, if you ignore the person who is perpetrating the evil. If you cannot fight the evil, you can at least let the person know you do not agree with what they are doing.

Evil can come to us in many forms. If we ignore it, it will get bigger until it consumes us all. Not many people are willing to fight for what is right. I am thankful there are at least a few people who are willing to do this for the rest of us.
