Mother's Day: Best reasons to treat your mother like a queen

The are many admirable reasons why you should treat your Mother like a Queen on Mother's day, or really any day of the year come to that, however below are some of what I consider to be the best reasons to do so. I have never been a Mom but I have been a daughter. All the reasons below do assume that you have a good Mom who cares, so here goes:-

1 - Treat her like a Queen because she is the one person who will always be there for you. She will accept you warts and all, and would give her life for you. If there is one person constantly fighting your corner for you it is your Mom.

2 - This is I suppose the most obvious , but often underrated reason, giving you life. Without her you would never have existed in the first place. She may have lost her figure and youth giving birth and then over the years sacrificed much more.

3 - She will have done everything for you at some point in your life and you will have been totally dependent on her. Hopefully she will ever have let you down when you were dependent on her. Assuming she has not she will have changed your dirty nappies, fed you, clothed you, cleaned you, nurtured you and much more.

4 - You Mum will probably have gone without so that you didn't have to. She will have possibly had little free time, no holidays and very few luxuries over the years when you were young.

5 - She will have given up her best years and freedom to care for you. Perhaps she had always longed for a career and an identity apart from Mom. She may have been lucky and managed to do both successfully but she will have had to make sacrifices.

6 - She will love you till the day you die. A Mother's love is often blind. Mum will love you if you are ill, down and out, failing as a human being or just have various problems. Her love will never cease and will be with you through thick and through thin.

7 - As you are a little piece of her, so is she a little piece of you. In other words you are, or at least should be, kindred spirits.

She will hopefully be the one stable influence in your life and someone you can always rely upon. There are a million and one reasons why you should treat you Mum with due respect or even as a Queen so I'll leave it with, because she is your Mom and one day you probably won't have her. Take heed of someone who has not had a Mum since she was twenty three and treasure her. Spoil her while you can by way of some small recompense and recognition for all the work she has done on your behalf. Above all of course, Love her.
