Cruise ships: Activities for seniors

Cruises cater for all ages. Many seniors want to enjoy themselves and experience something new and exciting, especially if they're quietly retired. Cruise ships offer a wealth of activities for the more mature passenger. The various ports of call have a range of possibilities and the cruise ships offer a range of excursions to suit all stamina levels.

The gym doesn't have an age bar and there is a variety of equipment to fit all levels of ability. The pool is another way of keeping active. On many ships, walking round the top deck is a daily activity organised by the entertainment staff and enjoyed by many passengers.

The entertainment, especially the cabarets, bingo and bridge schools all suit mature passengers and make a cruise memorable. The casino is often frequented by seasoned one-armed bandit pullers and they always look enthralled by the rolling reels of the machines. All around the ship, there are bars and even discos for the aging dirty dancers to strut their stuff in.

Cruising is for everyone and anyone. The possibilities for enjoyment cover the whole spectrum of energy involvement. More importantly, a change is as good as a rest, as they say, and for retired folk who are resting regularly, a cruise offers a time to rejuvenate and get active again.
