In a world that is becoming evermore selfish and superficial, the need for superheroes is growing. Superheroes often make decisions based on the good of all, and neglect their own selfish desires in order to create peace and harmony. This is something that normal humans do not seem to understand.
One thing that people don't realize is that they all have the ability to become superheroes, and they don't need to be from another planet or have a radio-active accident to do it. All it takes to become a superhero is a strong desire for justice, self-control, ambition, and a selfless need to see mankind thrive.
The world doesn't see superheroes around very often, and sometimes they don't even recognize them. It's become common to see superheroes retreat from the spotlight and leave humans to their own devices. The fight for the good of mankind seems to be a losing battle these days, and when the people you are advocating are willingly destroying themselves superheroes surely start to ask themselves "what is it all for?".
Maybe what society really needs is superhero lessons. Ordinary people coached to become extraordinary in their everyday lives. If the task of becoming a superhero seems too daunting perhaps the role of sidekick would be a better fit. Imagine, a city of sidekicks, dedicated to ensuring the success of superheroes. It would certainly make the Superhero's job a lot easier and more fulfilling. Then perhaps more superheroes would step forward to do battle with the world's villains.
It's time for the superheroes and sidekicks of the world to dust off their capes and tights, or briefcases and glasses, and start kicking some evil-doer ass.
