To keep your relationship fresh and interesting, you can't rely on old memories to keep you going. That means, make new ones! Set aside time each month (cause everybody can't do it every week) and do SOMETHING. It doesn't have to be super expensive. Maybe you tell everyone you're away for the weekend, so they won't bother you, and you just spend the time together relaxing with movies, candles, special meals you cook together (try something different), a new bubble bath. Make it corny and sappy. Play strip poker or 'special words Scrabble'. Just relaxing together is the key. When you make a commitment to spend time together, whether you're taking a long drive just to spend the night at a B&B, or maybe trying a new club and acting like you just met, you show you care. Too often we're just too busy to take the time to do the things that got us married in the first place. And if you have children, by all means do not feel guilty to leave them with the grandparents or a babysitter. Happy parents make happy kids.
