The illegal immigration cabal invokes a sea of 10 to 20 million people living and working in a voiceless nation, unknown and kept in the dark shadows of this society. Each day we watch the news, inundated by images of illegal aliens streaming across our borders and increasing crime in border states. We are constantly reminded of the "war" our government is fighting against illegal immigration, yet it seems more and more people cross our borders illegally each day, driven by the dreams of El Norte, the promised land.
They flock in hordes to the US/Mexico border where some pay huge amounts of money to "coyote" smugglers for illegal entrance to the US. "Coyotes" are infamous for exploiting these people and exposing them to inhumane conditions. Recently in Houston, Texas 19 immigrants died from asphyxiation in the back of a tractor trailer in the searing Texas heat.
In cases of South and Central American immigrants, the stakes are even higher: Mexican border agents are reportedly brutal enforcers of their border laws. Many seek entry on their own by hitching rides on northbound railcars, where stories of savage beatings and possibly killings performed by the Mexican police abound. These immigrants may fall victim to robbery and murder at the hands of brutal Mexican gangs such as MS13. Train stops are considered gangland territories, and these gangs lay in wait for "trespassers", sometimes charging trespass fees. Some immigrants are robbed, usually ending in violence or in some cases, even death. Sometimes the trains themselves claim victims; Mexican authorities report amputations and deaths as immigrants have tried to board these railcars, tripped and fell victim to the rails. The lucky ones still face the prospect of US Border Patrol, and if caught will be sent back to their respected country only to start the exodus once again.
On July 6, 2006, Karl Rove spoke at the National Council of La Raza exclaiming "Everything that this country is, everything we have achieved that we hold, everything that we promised, is because we are a nation of diversity, brought together by immigration and sharing a common dream". Also in attendance were spokesmen from many American companies, such as Wal Mart, Shell and McDonalds. Why would huge corporate businesses care so much about a third world community? The answer is simple economics along with a control grid set up for exploitation of human resources, brought about by the creation of a so called "North American community" and decreasing importance of our national borders. The introduction of a third world community into this country for the express purpose of corporate gain is a crime. The conditions under which these people work are unregulated, unsafe and in many cases inhuman.
The savage truths of illegal immigration may never truly be known as most illegals live in sheltered societies, away from the mainstream American way of life. Their voices go unheard, even some crimes committed against them are not prosecuted. Rapes and robberies go unreported for fear of deportation. Their struggle for a better life goes on, in a economic wasteland where human rights have been blurred in a corporate slave trade, where the individual is the pawn for another's gain, where their plight has been silenced. With hearts full of hope and dreams of a better life they turn their heads to the El Norte and pray.
