Band reviews: Queen

I think Queen is one of the most diverse bands I have ever come across, if not the most diverse. In fact, if I had to choose my favorite band, I would choose Queen without hesitation. What makes Queen so splendidly superior amongst other band quo is not just their use of amazing multi-layer arrangements, vocal harmonies, and collaboration; but their use universality and originality, as well. The use of a variety of music, with a variety of genres, makes them truly brilliant. They have not only brought something new to music, they have changed music and made it supremely good. Although, the band consisted of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon. Since Freddie's death, he has been replaced by Paul Rodgers formerly of Free and Bad Company.

Freddie Mercury has gained radical respect as the supreme front man. With Freddie's amazing vocals, gifted stage presence, and elite projection, he used that, among his rarity, his edge, and his power and applied it to a higher purpose in contributing to the success of Queen. Freddie managed to not only communicate with his music, but he made you believe what he sang. Freddie was a passionate songwriter and he wrote songs that balanced several genres by a string, because he was a genius. He also managed to compose a lot of music, while making music into a real art form. Although Freddie is now deceased, his legend remains, as a result. Brian May is another legend who has gained praised for his excellent songwriting, as well as, guitar playing. Despite taking it hard after Freddie's death, he managed to attempt to make Queen work, because he knew that Freddie would have wanted that more than anything.

Queen has several amazing CDs, however; my favorite is "Classic Queen - The Best of Queen", as it summarizes how talented they are. It also links us to the origin of their career, hence why the song on the album are from past to present. The songs on Classic Queen - The Best of Queen are consisted of what Queen is all about. Although this is not their first CD nor a CD from their early years, it possesses songs that contribute to their entire career. Songs that basically speak volumes in content and meaning. Despite the collaboration and regardless of what the engineers did, when recording Queen's tracks, they are most praised for their shows, as their best performances were their live performances. Freddie was the genius of projecting and he knew how to sell himself, without overlooking the entire band. To me, that is legendary genius quality. Some of my favorite songs include: The Show Must Go On, Who Wants To Live Forever, Barcelona (featuring Montserrat Caballe), Bohemian Rhapsody, I Want To Break Free, Save Me, Love Kills, Under Pressure (featuring David Bowie), Somebody To Love, Always On My Own, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, I Was Born To Love You, and more.

Queen is known as the most respected band in the history of music by several music critics and theorists. The band is filled with quite a few unique, musical geniuses of the rock persuasion and with that said, Queen remains to be one of the best bands to walk planet earth.
