Need. There is no other word that says so many different things and only so few letters.
I need money. I need THAT woman. I need that car. I need a better job. I need a better life, does anyone not need these days?
Even the better off people have needs that never seem to be satisfied.
I have a need to be needed, and have a family and loved ones that care for me deeply, yet that feeling never goes away, never seems to be sated, never stops reminding me.
It's not a matter of not being satisfied with my lot in life, it's a matter of knowing what I want and missing what I'm not doing or getting or having in my simple and humble life.
Need. There must be a reason why that rhymes with greed.
Probably not the same reason that it rhymes with speed since needs never are resolved in a hurry and in fact time seems to slow down when the solution is coming or near the far horizon.
