I am a very liberal mother. I let my kids watch pretty much anything that they want but my kids, which by the way I have 4, know that if they have questions they can ask. I firmly believe that if you let them watch violence or sex and do not explain anything to them that yes it can affect them but, if you are willing to answer their questions when they have them then they will not be so eager to experiment.
I had my first child at 17, my second at 19, my third at 25, my fourth at 35, and I have noticed that my two younger ones seem to be more creative. I believe it is due to the fact that I let them watch more than just educational programs. But as with all children it depends also on the love and nurturing they receive from the parents that determine if they will let it affect them negatively.
