Make Friends! These Free Paper Dolls Teach Acceptance of Diversity - and They're Fun!
I've seen lots of paper dolls over the years, but these simple ones are my absolute favorites! Not only are they great fun to put together and use in projects, they teach acceptance of diversity!
You can get the templates at MakingFriends.com. Either right-click and save them to a folder on your hard drive, or print them from the site. Here's a direct link to the templates page:

Called "Friends," these dolls are non-gender specific and they come in three colors: "Light Skin," "Tan Skin," and "Dark Skin." (Or you can use the outline forms and print them on any color card stock you'd like.)
There are dolls with rounded eyes, dolls with almond-shaped eyes, dolls with glasses, dolls with freckles, and dolls with glasses AND freckles. There are even dolls in wheel chairs.
There are lots of different hair styles and clothes, so you can make your "Friend" a boy or a girl, and dress him/her any way you like. There are lots of themes, like "Multi-Cultural Friends," "Athletic Friends," "Scout Friends," "Spiritual Friends," and more!
There are several project ideas too, so that you'll have something else fun to do once you've made your Friends. My two favorites are:
Best Friends Scrapbook Page: http://makingfriends.com/bestf riends_scrapbook.htm
and
Journal Friends: http://www.makingfriends.com/f riends/f_journal.htm
I prefer the color templates for Friends, hair, clothes, and accessories, but you can use the outline templates if you prefer letting your kids color them in, or if you're going to print them on colored paper or card stock.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention - these dolls do not have stands, or the tabs on their clothing that traditional paper dolls do, (although you could certainly make them if you want to.)
Friends are designed mostly for use in scrapbooks, greeting cards and other "flat" projects which require that their hair, clothes and accessories be glued on.
Your kids will love their new Friends, and I'll bet you will too. Have fun!
