How to get your picky child to eat

CHILDREN: PICKY EATERS, HOW TO GET THEM TO EAT YUCKY FOODS

Here are some tips which I wish someone had given me when I was a child:

-Mix cooked veggies with mashed potatoes and gravy.

-Experiment with fresh vs cooked. Some kids will eat an item fresh but not cooked.

-Pretend it's something else. Or pretend that it's 'alien' food...

-Use the Eat Right for your Blood type diet. People with blood type A might prefer foods to be more bland, for example. People with blood type O are meat eaters so their preferences for texture and meat may be greater.

-Start with small portions that can be mixed or paired with another food.

-Find out what spice or spices (seasonings) the child likes and then have a little shaker on the table and encourage the child to use it on the yucky foods. (Suggestions: Molly McButter, Ms. Dash, Parmesan or Romano grated cheese.)
