Easter

Why are eggs related to Easter celebrations?

I have always thought of the Easter egg as a symbol for the birth and resurrection. The egg is the birth or new birth and the empty egg being the empty tomb, therefore the resurrection. therefore with Christ's resurrection we are able to attain a new life.
As far as the Easter bunny goes, I think its a simple but not the best way for a child to believe in something or someone they cannot not see, kind of like Santa. I think a child would find it difficult to understand the whole concept of heaven or the resurrection. The fuzzy bunny is easier, then when a child get older he or she can relate to an invisible God. I think the verse that talks about 'when i was a child, i thought like a child, but when i became man i put away childish things' tells me that a child can have fun and believe in things like the easter bunny, but when the child becomes an adult, its time to get serious with God.
