One of the best things about a cruise is the food! If you are a food lover a cruise is your dream come true. Food is available 24-hours a day and there are so many different dining options to chose from that you are bound to find one that suits you perfectly. If you ever talk with anyone about their cruise experience you will most certainly hear them mention the food. Dining on cruise ships is spectacular!

Food preparation and presentation is taken very seriously on cruises. It is one of the things they take pride in and often one of the main reasons people love going on cruises so much. It is typical for a person to gain five pounds on a week long cruise. Being surrounded by that much good food makes it hard to stick to your diet.

A cruise ship offers many dining options from formal to pizza and burgers. The main dining room serves elegant food nightly. In the main dining room you are required to dress up. Most nights the attire is business casual but at least one night the attire will be formal. There are two seatings for dinner, one early and one late. Each night typically has a different theme. One night might be Italian, the next Chinese, American etc ... There are always several choices on the menu and if you see absolutely nothing that you like, ask your waiter and the cook will prepare something that you do like. The food looks and tastes amazing! You receive an appetizer, entree and dinner and you can have as many of each that you like. If you see two appetizers that you want to try you can order them both. You can see why people can gain weight! Your table in the main dining room is served by a wait staff. Each table has at least two waiters taking care of your needs one main waiter and their assistant.

In addition to the formal dinning room, there are several other choices. If you want to have a sit down meal but do not want to be in the formal dining room there is a casual buffet that is open all day and serves a variety of food. You are bound to find something on the buffet you like. The attire in the buffet is usually come as you are. There is no dress code.

There also will typically be a pizza and burger place where you can grab sandwiches, french fries and other quick options.

If you have a sweet tooth a cruise will be able to satisfy all your cravings. Each location that serves food has a variety of desert options. As a bonus cruise ships usually have an ice cream shop dedicated specifically to serving your sweet tooth.

No matter what type of food you are looking for chances are you will find it in one of the dining options.
