It is so good to be home. I came up empty today questioning the possible suspects for a murder I am investigating. I check my messages. Just the usual except one did intrigue me. It is an invite to a former co-worker's party. Just what the doctor ordered. I look at my watch. I still had time to shower and shave and make it to the party in time.
As I drive to the party I begin to think about maybe I might get lucky tonight. Since I became Chief of Detectives my dating calendar has been empty. I arrive at the house and look for a place to park. It sounds like the party is hopping. I can hear loud music and a lot of laughter. I knock on the door. I do not recognize the person who greets me. He introduces himself and I do the same. I head to the bar for a drink. While the bartender is fixing my cocktail I look around the room to see if there is anyone I know. Across the room I could see my former co-worker talking with a group of people. I take my glass and walk over to join in the fun.
While interacting with the group I pan the room looking for someone who may be interested in having a one on one conversation. I notice a gorgeous woman standing at the bar alone. I excuse myself and go to the bar. I ask for another drink. While the bartender is away I turn my head towards her and introduce myself. She smiles back at me and does the same. We begin to have a good conversation. It seems like we have a lot in common.
After a couple of hours we become friendlier. Then all of sudden she wraps her arms around my neck and then plants the most sensual kiss on my lips. Being the gentleman that I am I end the kiss with a smile. I ask her to dance and she says yes. I could feel excellent vibes from her. My mind starts racing. All I could think of is how am I going to politely ask her to leave and go to a quieter place; like maybe my apartment. My experience with some women is their flirting is just that. Anything else will get you slapped across your face and I sure didn't want to embarrass myself in front of all of these people. The music stops and we go back to the bar and continue our conversation.
She excuses herself to go to the ladies room. I give the bartender my glass for a refill. He looks at me like he wishes he could get so lucky. I return the look by saying sorry pal she is mine for now. I notice her coming around the corner and I move towards her and offer my hand to escort her back to the bar. I then notice the similarity of the color of her lipstick and the
