It is so good to be home. I came up empty today questioning the possible suspects for a murder I am investigating. I check my messages. Just the usual except one did intrigue me. It is an invite to a former co-worker's party. Just what the doctor ordered. I look at my watch. I still had time to shower and shave and make it to the party in time.

As I drive to the party I begin to think about maybe I might get lucky tonight. Since I became Chief of Detectives my dating calendar has been empty. I arrive at the house and look for a place to park. It sounds like the party is hopping. I can hear loud music and a lot of laughter. I knock on the door. I do not recognize the person who greets me. All I could think of is how am I going to politely ask her to leave and go to a quieter place; like maybe my apartment. My experience with some women is their flirting is just that. Anything else will get you slapped across your face and I sure didn't want to embarrass myself in front of all of these people. The music stops and we go back to the bar and continue our conversation.

She excuses herself to go to the ladies room. I give the bartender my glass for a refill. He looks at me like he wishes he could get so lucky. I return the look by saying sorry pal she is mine for now. I notice her coming around the corner and I move towards her and offer my hand to escort her back to the bar. I then notice the similarity of the color of her lipstick and the
