Ah, a great question - and an essential skill for work/party-aholics.
First, let's get the obligatory advice out of the way: yeah, yeah, espresso infused coffee, blab, blab, blab, eat lots of protein and carbohydrates for breakfast and lunch, breathe deep (always good advice by the way), lots of light, sunshine. Yeah -
Now, let's get real. All this organic stuff is fine - it's stuff people have been doing for several millenia, and while it was fine then - let's face it - in the 21st century's fast paced competitive world, social and corporate, a man (or woman) has got to have an edge, and this IS the 21st century people, so let's take advantage of it.
I'm taking about modern legal cutting edge psychostimulants: specifically - Modafinil (or 'Provigil', or 'Alertec', 'or Vigicer', or 'Modalert' or 'Give it to me right NOW dammit!').
Modafini, originally developed for the treatment of narcolepsy, is a memory-improving and mood-brightening psycho-stimulant. It's a second generation amphetamine which means, basically, it has all the benefits of amphetamines with little or none of their traditional side effects such as jitteriness or anxiety - in fact, it may even have anxiolytic effects (probably due to it's anti-depressant effects) plus nootropic and neuroprotective effects.
It doesn't get much better than that . . . in fact, not much gets much better than that.
Users (myself included) report that it's surprisingly clean and smooth compared to caffeine or other stimulates. In fact, I'll still take cat-naps during the day, but they're brief, and I'm even more well rested afterwords than I would be otherwise.
In short, take it first thing in the morning: it works. It works great. It's nice.
It is also a non-narcotic Schedule IV controlled substance which means - you need a prescription. It's illegal to possess this stuff without one.
So - how do you get a prescription if you're NOT a narcoleptic? Two words (one is hyphenated): "Off-label Use."
Off-label simply means doctors will prescribe it to suppress the need for sleep. In fact, today, most prescriptions for Modafinil are filled for off-label uses. Now - you need to give your doctor a good (or good enough) reason for why you don't want to sleep, such as . . . well, there's plenty of good reasons why someone would need to stay awake and functioning for long periods of time, like:
a Foreign Legion commando during certain covert operations, or a Long-Range Strike Aircraft pilot flying at tree level,
or a neurosurgeon having
