Understanding the relations between the UK and the European Union

by Solstar

The European Union is seen in a poor light in Britain, this is due to the fact that they are constantly trying to devolve power from each country and have a centralized European government, they have already introduced a standard currency through most of the member states, this has been viewed by most of these as a poor move and has increased prices through-out. Britain refused at the time to join this monetary policy and has seen it's economy go from strength to strength whilst most other countries economies have been stagnant or in recession.

The British as a nation see the European Union as an organization that is trying to bring Europe to a super state and quash any individualism in these countries, this is wrong for such a vast area that holds such a diversity of people and cultures, we will always be different from each other just by the fact that we all talk different languages and have such differing nationalistic ideologies.

As a nation Britain pays more into the Union per head of population than any other country and all we see for this huge input is stupid rules and regulation being brought into our lives, such as certain foods having to be renamed because they don't originate from the place the food is named after, or food not to be sold if it's the wrong colour or shape, the rules are being made by people who are paid vast sums of money and are unelected by the nations they are messing with.

The European Union Parliament moves twice a year to sit and make these nonsensical rules in buildings that have cost us astronomical amounts of money, the move to each venue costs millions of pounds each time and the members live a life of luxury while the people they effect with their stupid laws and rules struggle to earn a wage, they insult the people they are meant to be helping.

The introduction of the Human Rights Bill into Britain by this Union has sent British law into free-fall, criminals sue the government or prison authority because their pillows are not thick enough or they don't have enough pool tables and leisure activities, we cant keep suspected terrorists in jail because their human right are infringed, never mind the rights of the people they wish to blow up, immigration in this country is out of control as we can't deport anyone just in case they get arrested when they are returned to where they came from. The European courts have ordered the government of this country to give payments to murderers on release from prison because of some alleged irregularity whilst they were imprisoned.

This country is now seen as a soft touch for any who wish to come to these shores legally or illegally and the blame for this lies at the door of the European Union and weak leaders here.

When Britain wakes up and realizes that we have been taken for a ride and leaves this shambolic organization then we can start to have pride in being British once more.
