I never even thought about picking up a golf club until my cousin Dave came by one evening and said lets go hit some balls at the local driving range. Well, needless to say I duff-ed a few, sliced a few, and completely missed a few (LOL). He asked me what I thought about it and I told him it was pretty fun. He said good because we have a 7am tee time for a foursome in the morning.
When I stood at the first tee, which was sandwiched between the club house and practice putting green with god and everyone else watching I was really nervous! But after watching the first two groups tee off and every tee shot going in every different direction and about half of those being Mullikan's I didn't feel so embarrassed anymore. I shot a whopping 148 and have been playing ever since. Now I can shoot anywhere from 90 to 120 depending on how much I improve my lie (LOL). At least I don't tee the ball up in the fairway like some people I know (my brother).
Golf is a great game you can play from 9 to 95 years old. So, if you are wanting to start playing all I can suggest is that you just jump right in and get your feet dirty. Remember, practice makes perfect.
