ACN and what makes it a pyramid scheme

You're right. You shouldn't get involved in ACN. Not because it's a "pyramid" scheme full of 18 year olds with DEL taco experience, but because it's an outdated network marketing company that has seen its glory days already.
ACN was founded in the 1990's- and they basically put a company called LCI on the map, which was specialized in Long Distance. That company eventually became Quest Communications, which if you live in the west coast or near Colorado and those states i'm sure you've heard of. They charge a startup fee for normal people to start their own telecom business of 500 bucks. Will most people lose their money? Absolutely. There are a ton of Kenny Rogers Roasters franchises that people lost money on too. That doesn't mean franchising is illegal, it just means that it's a forlorn opportunity.

I know personally people who are professionals who have made millions in ACN. That doesn't mean that it's a great company. You'de never catch me joining them, that's for dang sure. It's old news. In the early to mid 1990's it was a great company. Residual income with telecom is the scam. The average life of a telecom customer is 6 months. You're not going to make any residuals in 6 months, especially at a 1/4 of a percent.
Network Marketing is the greatest industry for wealth building in the world. I'm with a company that does what ACN does WITHOUT the 500 bucks. If it's free, you'll never hear anyone calling it a "pyramid" scheme. It's not about geometrics, because in that case Ford Motors would be a "pyramid". After all there's a President , 10 VPS, middle management, and then the workers. My company allows you to come in for free and make 20 bucks per customer on VOIP and Dish Network and Direct TV next week, without investing a dime. This is the 21st century, and ACN's days are limited. No one wants to pay 500 bucks anymore.
