Motivating one liners

I love the one-liner, that encapsulation of something vital that makes you say: YES! Exactly!

I've been collecting quotes for a while now, some long, some short, and most of them still work for me. Whether they'll work for you will depend on precisely what kind of motivation you're short on. For me it's usually about accepting things I'd rather weren't around, getting on with what I really want to do but seem to be putting off, or just trusting that it's good to acknowledge my talents and to switch off now and again.These are some of my favourites:

* There is no such thing as bad weatherevery sky is beautiful.

* If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain. [Dolly Parton]

* Be thankful for your problemsif they were less difficult, someone with less ability would have your job.

* The biggest mistake made by most people is to think they are working for some-one else.

* If you don't know how good you arewho does? [family motto]

* Every day you're not happy is a day down the drain. [Lloydy, Preston Front]

* Don't die with any fun in the bank. [Lloydy, Preston Front]

* You don't must.

* When it starts to rainlet it.

* It's not self-indulgenceit's therapy.

* A ship is safe in harbourbut that's not what ships are built for.

* We cannot adjust the wind, but we can adjust the sails.

* When the wind failsrow.

* Rome wasn't built in a day but there's parts of it that were. [Father McBride, Murphy's Law]

* Progress, not perfection.

* Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right. [Ford]

* I didn't have any failuresI just found 9,999 ways not to make a lightbulb. [Edison]

* There are no menial jobs, just mean attitudes.

* Live every day as if it were your first ~ without prejudice or regret.
