Hiccups are natural and most people, if not all, will experience them at some point.
Remedies of hiccups range from the easy to the intensely bizarre. After I have thrown a few ideas up, I will tell you how these remedies work:
1) Hold your breath.
Hold your breath and count to ten.. twenty.. thirty.. and so on until they go away.
2) Eat a spoonful of honey.
Eat the honey and think about how lovely it tastes. Mmmm..
3) Drink some cool water.
Drink the water slowly.. very slowly and in a single breath if possible.
4) Read a book.
Read a book and get fully engrossed. Before you know it the hiccups will be gone.
5) Sour Lemons.
Drink some lemon juice or eat some sour sherbert. Yum!
These work why? They work because hiccups go when you take your mind off the hiccups. It's purely psychological.
