Effective communication with a stylist can often be difficult to achieve. Not only do language barriers sometimes come into play, there are often miscommunications that arise and conflicts over aesthetics which will leave you with platinum blonde when you asked for highlights.
Whatever the case may be, I have found that the best way to communicate your ideas is through visual pictures. If you can provide your stylist with a model, he or she may be more capable of actually producing the results that you desire.
Cut out a couple of clippings from magazines and explain to your stylist exactly what look you are going for. Remember to consider color, styling, and length. Be as descriptive as possible and ask him or her several questions to be sure that he/she is following you and is on the same page.
Overall, the most important thing to remember about hairstyling is that it is only hair. The bottom line is, no matter what damage is done to your locks by incapable stylists, you will not suffer any permanent or long-lasting losses. Fortunately, hair grows back.
