Prunetang Bang!

Tastes change - it's true. What's maybe less obvious is that taste changes. The vibrant pink buds that once thrilled to the subtlest flavors become a little dulled and grey over the years, in perfect gerontological lockstep with the other faculties. Yes, it's sad isn't it? But there's actually an upside to this sensorial decay. At last,finally, nothing ever tastes really bad. That's good! In celebration of this albeit modest revelation, I offer the following cocktail. It's the perfect cooler for any social occasion attended by the over sixty crowd.

PRUNETANG

1/4 c. prune juice
2 tbls. Tang orange drink
1/2 c. water
1 tablet Alka Seltzer

Place first three ingredients in a shaker, with ice, and shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Be rhythmical - show 'em whatchu got. Once shaken, pour into a large tumbler or hurricane glass. Open Alka Selter packet and plunk tablet into drink; serve while at full fizz. HINT: The torn foil packet adds a nice decorative touch when placed on the rim of the glass, a la limon. Bottoms-up!
