There are many good museums whose focus are on science and technology. One example is the Ontario Science Centre in Toronto, Canada. This is a very large museum with many hands-on examples that students can try for themselves to see science in action. Museums can benefit greatly by hosting or sponsoring science festivals. By doing so it increases student interest in science, brings students and their families into the museum environment where they may decided to take the time to see the museum. It allows students to express their interest in science in a place that is removed from the school setting and so less pressure from their school mates who are entering because their parents make them, for instance. Children get a sense of the value of musuems, the museums get good publicity and a chance to bring in people who wouldn't normally take the time to visit, and what's more, maybe they will be giving a valuable first start to the next Einstein or Currie. Who knows?
