Climate Change
Eight percent per decade is now the rate of Arctic Ice Melt, and is a very convincing sign of global warming. This is stressing out the wildlife and humans residents of the Arctic and tundra. It is putting huge ice dams at risk in Iceland, Greenland and elsewhere. These ice dams hold back billions of tonnes of water at temperatures well below freezing. When they break national and human disasters in arctic nations occur. This happened in the nineties, when huge storms also ravaged Europe.
Global warming is changing our climate. Selfishness by businesses and those who rely on their products, while refusing to change their production methods is multiplying the problem. Today's news proved that computer models of the Global monitoring of melting arctic ice have underestimated the damage. Fresh studies show that Arctic ice is shrinking at the rate of eight percent per decade, not the two an half percent previously accepted and certainly not the ten percent a century claimed by computerized models.
We are closer to the prediction that the world will end by fire than we ever knew. Canada's Provincial Premiers are meeting to share their concerns and search for solutions. More and more uncontrollable forests fires are breaking out globally and burning for longer periods of time. Perhaps the Governor of Alaska will want to become involved. This is a concern for the whole continent, and one in which we need to involve other Arctic nations, especially China. China's contribution to limiting the selfishness of the human race to date is to limit the number of children per couple.
Australia has traditionally dumped used water in the ocean. Their 'yuk' factor militated against cleaning and recycling the water. Now they face endless water shortages with punishments for not limiting personal water use. Australia's forest fires cause endless forest fires which combined with the water shortages is limiting the number of migrants Australia hoped to receive. Fire crews from both the USA and Canada travel to help put out the fires. Australia is also repeating the errors of the Old World in other ways. Coal mining is a booming industry there. This coal is sold to China to fuel carbon based industry and pump huge carbon emission into the environment with further damage to the Arctic and the planet.
The Chinese are cleverly building and selling windmills, solar heating equipment and photo cells in Britain at very reasonable prices. Why do they not apply that technology at
